FRIDA

FRIDA (Forest Resource Index for Decisions in Adaptation) is a library of climate adaptation support tools for forest management.
This team works with Tribal communities to establish trust and facilitate knowledge sharing. They will provide information on current drought conditions, outlooks, and resources for community adaptation.

Building resilience to climate extremes in Hawaii

The Southwest Climate Hub is supporting wildfire modeling in Hawaii with the goal of prioritizing management practices to minimize future catastrophic wildfire.

Cultural Resources and Climate Change in the Southwest

Understanding how climate change may impact cultural resources is dependent upon likely climate impacts and is inconsistently documented in New Mexico and Arizona. However, precedent exists for developing and using cultural resource and climate assessments in other regions. Therefore, we are developing a climate change vulnerability assessment for cultural resources managed by the Forest Service in Arizona and New Mexico. The assessment will be developed through spatial analysis of expected changes in temperature, precipitation, streamflow, flood risk, fire risk, and erosion risk, as well as through evaluation and synthesis of published literature. This effort is a collaborative project between the Southwest and Northwest Climate Hubs.
